| Dear friends,
I'd like to share with you one of the beautiful images we're seeing these
days. Attached to this message is a photo taken at the Erez crossing point
between Israel and the Gaza Strip. The baby girl in the photo is 10-month-old
Sousan. With the Lord's help, we were able to bring her into Israel for
lifesaving heart surgery during the second week of the current
wave of violence. The picture shows the day of her return, healthy and
well, in the arms of her mother. Standing by is Dawn Lawrence, one of
the Light to the Nations volunteers.
Aren't you struck by the contrast between what we see in the news each
day and what is possible in the kingdom of God?
Tears came to my eyes yesterday as we brought back another little one,
one-year-old Ahmed, who was rescued right at the point of death by heart
surgery in Israel. I stood in the doorway as the Israeli soldiers at the
checkpoint processed his mother's papers, huge M-16 rifles slung over
their soldiers. And little Ahmed was just beaming, full of joy, calling
out and waving to the soldiers!
Thank the Lord with us for these scenes, and pray with us that they'll
be contact points for an inbreaking of God's healing and reconciliation.
We're closing the year with the lives of over 40 little ones saved, affecting
many families and many areas.
I will share with you also that we still have obligations this year of
about $50,000 to Israeli hospitals as our contribution toward these surgeries.
The Lord bless you!
