| Dear friends,
On the evening that Bayan's parents returned to their home in Iraq, I
spoke with the father by telephone. His first words were "When are
you coming?"
It is absolutely necessary that we confirm our love and respect for
this family by going to their home. God willing I will return to Iraq
next week to do so. And I want to give them a sense that they are
loved not just by the few of us they've met, but by many followers of
Jesus around the world. I will bring them a card that I hope will bear
many names, and tell them that each of these names represents a family
that loves them, is praying for them, and trusting in the resurrection
for Bayan. I believe this card is something they will long keep, and show
to many others in their village. If you'd like to be included, please
e-mail me your name and address.
We can also make available now the half-hour video which follows
Bayan's story, from the tearful reaction of the American doctor who first
saw her to the 21-hour struggle by Israeli doctors to save her on the
operating room table. Please just send me your mailing address and the
number of copies you would like.
With hope and thanksgiving,
Jonathan
