| Dear friends,
Warm greetings in Jesus' name from Amman, Jordan.
When I returned to Israel last week following a speaking tour in the
U.S., I was not allowed to re-enter the country. Many non-citizens have
been asked to leave in recent months, and my family and I are among them.
More details on our situation are in today's Jerusalem Post at http://www.jpost.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=JPost/A/JPArticle/Full&cid=1023716491518.
My sense so far is to "rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for
Him" (Psalm 37). This development may give my family and I time to
regroup and refocus. It may also be that this is a long-awaited opportunity
to help reach refugee children in Jordan who are in need of heart surgeries.
Just today three Iraqi children living here were brought to my attention.
Oddly enough (although typical of God's ways), I'm better received in
Jordan as a deportee from Israel than I would otherwise have been. So
let's remember to bless the Israeli authorities for their decision!
I do ask for your prayers concerning:
* Michelle and our five younger children who are still in Jerusalem as
we wait for clarity concerning our next steps;
* our office manager Sian, who is keeping up (and even increasing) the
flow of children into Israeli hospitals from Gaza and the West Bank, but
finding it difficult to carry the responsibility alone;
* and the possibility of others coming alongside to work in our place
in Jerusalem while we may be outside the country.
With thanksgiving,
Jonathan Miles
